Traders and town centre landlord, Land Securities, objected to Tesco plans to build a new 11,070 sq m store on the St James industrial estate in Corby. They were concerned that the store, situated about 1km from the town centre on the site of former steelworks slag heaps, would have a negative impact on trade.
